Very rarely in life do you get to witness a true master at work.

I left Bolivar around 10:00 a.m. trying to get a suit for a big job interview on Monday — one I only found out about Friday. After several unexpected delays and a 45-minute crawl just to get into Springfield, I didn’t pull into John’s Suit Shop until 2:30 p.m. They close at 3:00.

There was already a couple being fitted when I walked in, and I figured I had no shot at walking out with a full suit that day. Then I saw the woman running the shop in action.

It was like watching a kung fu master. She was helping the guy in front of me, grabbing a size for someone else, answering questions for three separate wedding parties that walked in, and then — just to add to the madness — an entire Amish family came through the door. And somehow… she handled all of it.

She moved with this calm, graceful energy — flipping between tasks, pulling jackets, pinning pants, matching ties — like it was all part of a choreographed performance. I wasn’t being pushed aside or rushed; she was helping all of us at the same time. I don’t know how else to describe it — it was like she bent time to fit 2 hours of work into 30 minutes.

The last thing she did was hem my pants. I paid and walked out of there with a full, perfectly fitted suit — shoes, shirt, tie and all — at 3:01 p.m.

If you’ve got somewhere important to be and you want to look your best, go to John’s. You might just witness some magic while you’re there.

John’s Suit Shop is an incredible store with tons of variety for suits, precisely done alterations, and with great pricing for such high quality clothing! Victoria, the shop owner, is a pleasure to work with. She is responsive, stays organized with group orders, and is an expert at alterations!

I had John’s Suit Shop services to thank for the suits myself and my wedding party wore in April 2023. These suits cost less than rentals I researched and are far better quality. And with 6 people to the order, my suit was free! John’s Suit Shop was able to make the order work, despite most of my friends not living nearby. Many of the guys, including myself, would argue it’s the most comfortable suits we own now!

I highly recommend going here for all suits and men’s formal wear!

It’s the one stop shop!! Excellent choice of suits.
I was skeptical at first, since I’ve always got my suits at the big box stores, but I was very surprised by all the choices and experience of the owner. The tailoring was perfect! To top it off they had shoes and belts available that were also excellent in style.
I will never go to any other suit shop again.
You will not be disappointed!
